Day 1

Arrive Siem Reap

Arrive in Siem Reap and be met by your local English speaking guide, who will help you to your hotel to settle in.

In the afternoon, begin your exploration of the Angkorian temples. Built in the 12th century, the Angkor Wat was built to resemble Mount Meru, home of the gods. The temple took over 30 years to build and is decorated by more than 300 Apsara dancers. Your visit coincides with the ‘Golden Hour’, to ensure you capture the Apsaras at their gleaming best.

Day 2

Siem Reap – Angkor Thom – Tonle Sap – Siem Reap

After breakfast this morning, visit the ancient city of Angkor Thom by a local ‘remork’ (similar to a tuk tuk), the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire, surrounded by 8m tall walls.From here, continue to Bayon Temple, in the exact centre of the city. Then explore the highlights of the Small Circuit with a visit to Ta Prohm, unique in that it has largely been left overgrown by the jungle. In the afternoon, depart for a boat ride on Tonle Sap lake, the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia. Then board a local boat and visit Kampong Phluck, a village sitting on stilts above the water.


Day 3

Siem Reap – Yangon – Nyaung U – Bagan

The morning is at leisure until time for your flight to Myanmar.

Arrive into Yangon, then transfer for your domestic flight to Nyaung U.

On arrival, be transferred to your hotel in Bagan.


Day 4


This morning be met by your guide and set off on a full day of exploration of Bagan. Start at the Thagyar Pone Temple, with spectacular views over the surrounding plains, then continue to Ananda Temple, one of the most revered in Bagan. Learn more about Bagan’s culture with a visit to two workshops producing laquerware and wooden crafts. In the afternoon, board a private boat and set off upriver to Kyauk Gu U Min along the Irrawaddy River for fantastic views of Bagan and a slice of typical Myanmar life. Finish at Kyauk Gu Min temple before cruising back to Bagan.


Day 5

Bagan – Heho – Inle Lake

Transfer to the airport for an early morning flight to Heho.

From Heho, a one hour drive takes you to Inle Lake, where you will board a private motorboat. Pass villages built on stilts and observe the leg-rowing fishermen. Stop at the weaving village of Inpawkhone and a cheroot factory, where typical Burmese cigars are made by hand.


Day 6

Inle Lake – Heho – Yangon

This morning, take a flight back to Yangon.

In the afternoon, set off on a sightseeing tour. Take in the Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda, home to a 70 metre reclining Buddha, then continue on to a modern tea shop, unique in the way they prepare tea. Next, visit Kandawagyi Park, one of Yangon’s greenest spots before finishing at the Shwedagon Pagoda, the most revered Buddhist temple in Myanmar, gilded in gold leaf.


Day 7

Depart Yangon

This morning, ride on Yangon’s Circle Train, a 45 minute journey that takes in the outskirts of the city and gives you a unique opportunity to closely observe Burmese everyday life. Disembark to visit Insein market full of colourful wares, then head back to Yangon. In the afternoon, visit Scott’s Market, where you can shop for a variety of Myanmar handicrafts.

Transfer back to the airport for your flight home.
